Brazil to Send Olympians to Arena Pro Swim Series – Santa Clara

The Arena Pro Swim Series meet at Santa Clara in June is building up to its historical reputation as a final major pre-Olympic test for swimmers around the world, as Brazil has now announced a roster of 9 swimmers who will travel to the U.S. for the meet.

The roster, according to Brazilian site Best Swim, will include 7 swimmers who were among the first 29 named by the CBDA (Brazilian Federation). One other, Gabriel Santos, is expected to be added as a relay-only swimmer for the Brazilian 400 free relay. The 9th swimmer, Natalia de Luccas, is a potential member of the women’s medley relay, if it’s confirmed later this month by FINA.

Only 2 of the swimmers, Tales Cerdeira and Kaio Almeida, overlap the group that is currently training at altitude in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Besides the Brazilians, a group of Australians has been announced for the meet as well that includes the world’s best male and female backstrokers Mitch Larkin and Emily Seebohm.

The meet will be held from June 3rd-5th at the Santa Clara International Swim Center.
