Bosch, Turner Win Big Ten Men’s Swimmer of the Week Honors

Michigan’s Dylan Bosch and Minnesota’s Daryl Turner have been named the Big Ten men’s Swimmer of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, and Iowa sophomore Addison Boschult was named the conference’s Diver of the Week.

Bosch took the National title at this past weekend’s Winter National Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee with a 1:41.01 in the 200 yard fly, which is an NCAA Automatic Qualifying Time. He also took 3rd in the 200 IM (1:43.47), which made him the top collegian in that race, and 3rd in the 400 IM in 3:45.31.

Bosch now leads the NCAA in the 200 yard fly and ranks 3rd in the 200 IM.

Turner won six races (including relays) at the Jean Freeman Invite last weekend. He won the 50 free in 20.45, the 100 back in 48.81, and was on the winning 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, and 800 free relay. This is already the third time this season that Turner has been named Freshman of the Week, in addition to an overall Swimmer of the Week award in October.

Boschult  won the platform event at the Iowa-hosted Hawkeye Invitational, breaking the program’s School Record with a score of 373.85. This is the first time that Iowa’s men have won the Diver of the Week honor since 2009.
