DANBURY, Conn. – Junior Andie Blaser of the Vermont women’s swimming and diving team has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I New England Swimmer of the Week for the period ending January 4.
Blaser, who earned America East Swimmer of the Week honors on Tuesday, collects her second award in as many days following an impressive showing at the Orange Bowl Classic in Florida over the weekend. The junior notched UVM’s top finish at the Orange Bowl, claiming second place in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:05.37. Blaser also helped guide her relay squad to a third-place showing in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 1:59.20.
The Catamounts are off from competition until January 17, when they travel to Northeastern to take on the Huskies at 1 p.m.
