Andrew Stranick
Andrew is currently a senior at Boston College where he studies Mathematics. As a captain of the 2014-2015 men’s squad, he has led the team to fourteen dual meet victories – going undefeated in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. Over the summers Andrew trains with SwimMAC Carolina under coach Russ Kasl. On campus Andrew is often mistaken for being a member of the football team.
2014-2015
As a Senior, Andrew captained the team to fourteen dual meet victories. Throughout the regular season, Andrew remained undefeated in the 100-yard breaststroke. At the ACC Championship at Georgia Tech, Andrew placed 24th in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.11), and 22nd in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:59.88). His time in the 200 was the first time an athlete from Boston College had gone under two minutes.
2013-2014
As a junior Andrew re-broke his own 100-yard breaststroke school record and earned an NCAA B cut with a time of 54.81 seconds. Throughout the season, he earned 26 first place finishes in dual meet competition, setting three BC dual meet records in the process. Andrew was honored as a Mid-Major All-American, a member of the Deans list in the spring semester, and Academic All-American from the CSCAA.
2012-2013
As a sophomore Andrew placed 13th and 16th in the 200 and 100-yard breaststroke (respectively) at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. His time of 2:00.46 in the 200 breast qualified him for the 2013 US Open. By the end of the season Andrew individually owned two school records, and was a part of two record-setting relays.
2011-2012
As a freshman Andrew set the tone by breaking the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke school records.
