Berrino, Grabich and Grassi All Take Events in Argentina

Andrea Berrino, Federico Grabich and Santiago Grassi all took events on the second day of the Argentinian Championships.

For the second night in a row Berrino broke one of her own national records. On the first evening she took down her own mark in the women’s 100 backstroke, tonight broke the 200 backstroke national record. Berrino took the event in a time of 2:13.91 just under her old record of 2:13.93 which she posted at the South American Championships.

After taking the men’s 200 freestyle in a new national record time on the first evening Grabich returned to the pool to win the men’s 50 freestyle. He took the event in a time of 22.82.

18 year old Grassi had an fantastic swim in the men’s 100 butterfly taking almost a full second off his best time. He went into the event with a life time of 53.90 and won tonight’s final in a time of 52.94.

Grassi’s time is only one one-hundredth of a second off of Jose Meolans 2003 record of 52.93. His time also places him 19th in the world rankings.

400 female free – Malena Lair Ferrari 4: 35.82
400 free male – Ivo Cassini 4: 00:04
