The 11-12 girls were on fire at the ISCA East Coast Elite Showcase in early April, as Ashley Lotano of Jupiter Dragons Swim Team and Madison Lord of Badger Swim Club launched themselves up the national rankings with a tie in the 100 free.
Lotano, 12, and Lord, 11, both threw down lifetime best times of 53.43 in the 100 free, tying for both the victory in the girls’ 11-12 event at the meet and for the #8 spot on the ranking of top times this season in the age group.
Lotano shaved 13 one-hundredths off of her previous best time of 53.56, while Lord took 26 one-hundredths off of her former lifetime best of 53.69.
Lord is notably the fastest 11-year-old this season in the girls’ 11-12 100 free.
In addition to her performance in the 100 free, Lotano posted chart-topping results in several of her other swims at the meet. She won the girls’ 11-12 50 back (27.73 – PB), 100 back (1:01.98), 50 fly (26.03), 100 fly (58.76), 50 free (24.71), 200 free (1:56.35 – PB), 500 free (5:10.73 – PB) and 100 IM (1:01.55).
Logging new personal best times in each of the freestyle races, Lotano climbed her way up the national rankings in all three of those events. Her performances marked the 9th-fastest time in the 500 free, 12th-fastest time in the 50 free and 17th-fastest time in the 200 free this season in the girls’ 11-12 age group.
Lord also posted a handful of personal best times over the course of the weekend. She took 2nd in the girls’ 11-12 50 free (25.17), 3rd in the 50 fly (27.18) and 3rd in the 100 IM (1:03.47), setting new lifetime best times in all three events. She also won the girls’ 11-12 200 IM (2:15.54) and placed 2nd in the 200 free (1:57.44), 4th in the 100 fly (1:00.64) and 17th in the 50 back (30.70).
Lord’s performance in the 50 fly landed her in the #54 spot on the ranking of top times this season in the girls’ 11-12 age group, while her performance in the 50 free landed her in the #55 spot.
Other Notable Performers
- Fishers Area Swimming Tiger’s Gabriel Brown stunned in the boys’ 10 & under 200 free, throwing down a lifetime best time of 1:56.78 to claim the victory by almost nine seconds. The 10-year-old shaved .15 off of his previous best time from a few weeks prior, solidifying his hold on the fastest time this season in the boys’ 10 & under age group. Brown also won the 50 fly (28.21), 100 IM (1:02.69) and 200 IM (2:11.66), logging a personal best time in each event and marking the 2nd-fastest time this season for his age group in both the 100 and 200 IM, as well as the 7th-fastest time this season in the 50 fly.
- Andrew Torba of QNS Aquatic Club turned in a strong showing, posting a lifetime best in five events. He won the 50 free (23.44), 100 free (52.16), 100 fly (56.05) and 100 IM (57.88) and took the runner-up spot in the 200 fly (2:03.02), setting new personal best times in each event. The 12-year-old also prevailed in the 50 fly (25.77) and 200 IM (2:09.78) and took 2nd in the 200 free (1:55.08).
- Ten-year-old Addie Farrier, who swims for Clearwater Aquatic Team, posted the fastest time this season in the girls’ 9-10 100 fly. She threw down a personal best time of 1:02.14 during prelims, shaving .35 off her previous lifetime best (1:02.49) from December 2025 before winning the event in 1:03.58 during finals. Her performance during prelims also landed her at 32nd on the ranking of all-time top 100 times in the event for the girls’ 9-10 age group. Farrier also logged personal best times in the 50 free (26.17), 100 free (57.80), 500 free (5:39.37), 50 back (30.38) and 100 back (1:04.01), landing within the top eight on the ranking of fastest times this season in the girls’ 9-10 age group for each event.
