The 2026 Giant Open is headed to the Olympic Aquatic Center in Saint-Denis, France, spanning Friday, March 20th through Sunday, March 22nd. Over 200 French and international swimmers are expected to race at the three-day affair.
French athletes to the tune of Beryl Gastaldello, Maxime Grousset and Melanie Henique are among the elite domestic athletes, while Simone Cerasuolo of Italy, Mary-Sophie Harvey of Canada and Emre Sakci of Turkey will also be there.
On the British front, we’ll see the likes of Freya Anderson, Adam Peaty and Duncan Scott take to the pool, just a month ahead of the all-important Aquatics GB Championships. That later competition represents the sole opportunity to qualify for the Commonwealth Games.
Many of these athletes are coming off of the Lausanne Swim Cup and Edinburgh International, both of which took place last weekend.
22-year-old British Olympian Angharad Evans was one of the top performers, putting her 100m breast national record and 200m breast personal best on notice. The University of Stirling star registered 1:05.46 and 2:22.31 in the latter to represent the #2 performer in the world this season in each event.
Grousset was another world rankings-rattler from last weekend, posting a time of 22.78 to become the #1 men’s 50m butterflier in the world right now.
