Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Cade Vieler has announced his verbal commitment to the admission process* at Princeton University for 2027-28. He confirmed in writing to SwimSwam:
“I am extremely grateful and excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Princeton University! I want to sincerely thank my family, coaches, and friends for their support throughout this journey, with a special shoutout to my brother Cole for always pushing me to be the best swimmer I can be. A huge thanks as well to Coach Matt, Coach Mia, and Coach Lebovic for their faith, guidance, and encouragement. GO TIGERS!!🐅🐅”
Vieler hails from Pleasanton, California. He trains year-round with the Livermore Aquacowboys and competes for Amador Valley High School during the California high school season in the spring. He is captain of the school team and holds the program record in the 100 free (which his older brother, Cole Reznick, owned before him). Vieler’s mother swam at Cal State Northridge (a D1 program that was discontinued in 2010) and his father played football at Cal Poly. Reznick swam at Duke.
Vieler is coming off a strong performance at Winter Juniors West last month. He finaled in the 100 back (8th) and 100 free (10th) and set new personal bests in the 100 free (43.75), 200 free (1:38.00), 50 back (22.02), and 100 back (47.49). He also clocked a PB in the 50 free (20.72) on the front 50 of his 100. Notably, those were improvements of .6 in the 50 free, 1.8 in the 100 free, 2.1 in the 200 free, .7 in the 50 back, and 1.6 in the 100 back, off his previous best times from May 2025.
As a sophomore last season, he placed 3rd in the 100 back and 6th in the 200 free at the 2025 CIF-North Coast Section Championships, qualifying for the California High School State Meet in both events.
Vieler will join fellow swimmers Jonny Palamar, Jack Cunningham, Jose Rodriguez, Kannen Crossland, Nemanja Maksic, and diver Max Van Stone (#5 in the class) in Princeton’s class of 2031. His times are already fast enough to score at the Ivy League Men’s Championships in the ‘B’ finals of the 100 back and 100 free and the ‘C’ final of the 200 free. It took 1:49.43 to earn a second swim in the 200 back.
Best SCY times:
- 100 free – 43.75
- 100 back – 47.49
- 50 back – 22.02
- 200 back – 1:52.30
- 50 free – 20.72
- 200 free – 1:38.00
*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
