Cal – 2025 NCAAs

||
| Jerry Fox | 18.87 | Jack Alexy | 18.34 |
| Quintin McCarty | 18.19 | Bjorn Seeliger | 18.41 |
| Drew Salls | 18.33 | Matt Jensen | 18.66 |
| Kaii Winkler | 18.63 | Destin Lasco | 18.71 |
| 1:14.02 | 1:14.12 |
All of the NC State men were under the 19 second mark, just as the Cal men were a year ago at 2025 NCAAs. The biggest difference today was the 18.19 split from Quintin McCarty on the free leg. McCarty is the top seed in the 50 free which takes place later in tonight’s session as he posted a 18.55 in prelims.
The NC State defended their title as they won the 200 free relay last year in a 1:14.29. McCarty led that relay off in a 18.78. The team went on to finish 5th at 2025 NCAAs, finishing right behind Cal (4th).
NC State has been dominant in the event in recent years, winning the relay now the last four seasons. It marked their 11th title in the event, the 2nd most of any ACC school only behind Florida State who has won the 200 free relay 12 times.

🐺 ♦️ NC State genuinely seems to have some of the most fun and camaraderie of any college swim team I’ve watched.
Not an American record because of Winkler?
Yes, formerly American but switched his sporting citizenship to Germany
Kaii winkler with a good relay start = 17.9
That slip did not help but still brought home the win like a dawg
