A trio of National Records fell over the weekend at the 2025 Danish Short Course Championships, with many of Denmark’s top swimmers competing at the meet less than two weeks after racing at the European Short Course Championships in early December.

The lone individual Danish Record that went down at the meet fell at the hands of Robert Pedersen, who clocked 51.16 in the men’s 100 backstroke to lower the super-suited mark of 51.54 set by Anders Jensen in December 2009.

Pedersen, whose previous best time stood at 51.75 from the European SC Championships, broke his second National Record of the month after cracking the 50 back mark at SC Euros in 22.94.

He also won the 50 back national title in Greve, clocking 23.31, and led off the Gladsaxe 200 medley relay even faster in 23.15.

Pedersen picked up a third individual win in the 100 free, shattering his personal best time of 48.45 in 47.68 to come within six-tenths of the National Record held by Frederik Lentz (47.09).

The two other Danish Records broken at the meet came in relays at the hands of the AGF club.

In the men’s 4×100 free relay, Oskar Lindholm (47.83), Malthe Lindeblad (47.30), Christian Frederiksen (48.17) and Andreas Hansen (47.95) combined for a time of 3:11.95, breaking the previous mark of 3:12.64 set by the Farum club in 2016.

In the men’s 4×100 medley relay, Mads Peter Hansen (53.49), Jonas Gaur (57.56), Sofus Bolwig Blladone (52.36) and Lindholm (47.66) clocked 3:31.07 to lower the previous record of 3:31.56, set by Hovedstadens Drenge at last year’s Danish SC Championships.

Gaur had one of the top individual swims of the competition, clocking 57.20 to win the men’s 100 breaststroke, just shy of the National Record he set earlier this month at SC Euros (56.84).

In addition to being the only swimmer a part of both 4×100 relay records, Lindholm also made an impression on the 4×200 free relay, setting a new best time in the 200 free on the lead-off leg in 1:43.65, with AGF earning the victory with Gaur (1:47.50), Frederiksen (1:46.41) and A. Hansen (1:44.10) also featuring on the team.

In the individual 200 free, Lindholm won the title in 1:43.99, and he added another victory in the 400 free, clocking 3:45.28 to come within nine-tenths of his best time (3:44.43).

On the women’s side, Martine Damborg, who set new European Junior Records in the 50 fly (24.61) and 100 fly (55.52) at the European SC Championships, picked up three wins at the meet, doing so in the women’s 50 free (24.26), 100 free (52.80) and 100 IM (58.40). She narrowly missed her personal bests in the 50 free (24.23) and 100 IM (58.17), but sliced three one-hundredths off her PB in the 100 free (52.83).

Helena Rosendahl Bach won her lone individual event of the meet in the women’s 200 fly, clocking 2:05.22 after setting a National Record at SC Euros in 2:03.55.

Other standouts for the women included Clara Rybak-Andersen, who picked up wins in the 200 breast (2:21.54), 200 IM (2:08.07) and 400 IM (4:38.25), and Julie Kepp Jensen, who topped the field in the 50 back (26.53) and matched Damborg’s 50 free winning time of 24.23 on the lead-off leg of the 4×50 free relay.
