USC junior Krzysztof Chmielewski details his summer which was featured by a win in the 200 butterfly at the U-23 Championships before going on to win silver at the 2025 World Championships. Chmielewski came into the Texas Invite as one of the top 200 butterflyers in the country.

Chmielewski may also benefit from the NCAA lineup changes depending on his event selection come March. He swam both the 200 fly and 1650 free, which took place on the same day, as a freshman. As a sophomore, he switched his lineup instead opting for just the 200 fly on the final day and instead swimming the 500 free on day 2 of the meet. At midseason this past week, he did not swim the 1650 free despite it being on the first day.
