2025 VLADIMIR SALNIKOV CUP
- Friday, December 19th & Saturday, December 20th
- St. Petersburg, Russia

The 2025 Vladimir Salnikov Cup is on the high-level international meet calendar for Friday, December 19th and Saturday, December 20th in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The annual competition has attracted top-tier domestic talent in the past, including Ilya Borodin, Arina Surkova and Egor Kornev. However, this time around, the nation of South Africa is sending a 34-strong roster to add international flair to the meet.
Olympic champion Chad le Clos, world champion Pieter Coetze and national record holders Erin Gallagher, Kaylene Corbett and Lara van Niekerk highlight the lineup. Versatile Matt Sates is absent from the roster.
South Africa finished 11th in the overall swimming medal table at this year’s World Championships, collecting 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in Singapore.
21-year-old Coetze captured 100m back gold, 50m back silver and 50m back bronze while Corbeett earned 200m breast bronze.
33-year-old le Clos bypassed the World Championships after taking an extended break due to a back injury. The veteran returned to the pool in September, competing at the South African Short Course Championships.
He also raced at the first stop of the 2025 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Carmel, reaping 100m fly bronze.
