Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Bianca Nwaizu from Irvine, California has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Texas beginning in fall 2027. Nwaizu is the #11 ranked recruit in the girls high school class of 2027 becoming the 3rd top 20 recruit in the class to commit to the Longhorns.
“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Texas, Austin! I would like to thank my family, friends, and Coaches for guiding me and helping me get to where I am today. I am so grateful for Coach Carol, Coach Mitch, Coach Chad, and the entire Texas coaching staff for this opportunity! Can’t wait! Hook ‘Em!!!! “
Nwaizu swims for Irvine Novaquatics and most recently competed at Summer Juniors at the start of August. There she swam to a personal best 1:09.85 in the 100 breaststroke to win the ‘B’ final. Her highest finish came in the 50 breast as she swam to a 31.93 for 4th. She also helped Irvine Novaquatics to four top-eight relay finishes, swimming on the team’s 200 and 400 medley relays as well as the 200 and 400 free relays.
Back in June, Nwaizu finaled in all three breaststroke events at the 2025 US Summer Nationals. Her highest finish was in the 100 breast as she swam to a 1:11.37 for 23rd. She swam a lifetime best 2:35.95 in prelims of the 200 breast before finishing 31st in finals, and also swam a 32.29 for 25th in the 50 breast.
Last December, she was 3rd in the 100 breast at Winter Juniors-West, swimming to a 3rd place finish in a 59.73. That marked her first time under 1:00 in the event.
Nwaizu’s Best SCY Times Are:
- 100 breast: 59.73
- 200 breast: 2:12.15
The Texas women captured the 2025 SEC team title in their first season in the SEC and went on to finish 3rd at the 2025 NCAA Championships with 394 points, finishing just 23 points behind 2nd place Stanford.
Based on her best times, Nwaizu is just off what it took to make the 2025 NCAA Championships as it took a 59.51 in the 100 breast and a 2:09.58 in the 200 breast. Nwaizu will overlap with Piper Enge for one season as Enge was the team’s top breaststroker this past season and was highlighted by a 5th place finish in the 100 breast at NCAAs in a 58.19.
Nwaizu will arrive in fall 2027 as a member of the class of 2031 alongside top ranked recruits #3 Sadie Buckley (back/IM/free) and #8 Daisy Collins (distance free). Also in the class are diver Callie Fox and New Zealand’s Milan Glintmeyer. Nwaizu also will have the chance to train alongside the #10 ranked recruit for 2026 Avery Klamfoth for three years as Klamfoth has best times of a 1:00.41 in the 100 breast and a 2:11.27 in the 200 breast.

Not sure why USC not in her radar
What an odd and unnecessary comment on a commitment announcement.
This Texas 2027 class is LOADED – come 2028, things could get real interesting on the women’s side bn Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, and Cal (especially if Erisman and Derivaux land at Cal)
Congratulations
That is an insane 100 BR time for a high school junior
And she did it in December of her SOPHOMORE year
