Futures Qualifier Phoenix Rose (2026) Commits to CAA Champions UNCW

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Phoenix Rose from Littleton, Colorado, has announced her intention to swim and study at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington beginning in the 2027-28 school year. She wrote on social media:

“I am stoked to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the University of North Carolina Wilmington! I want to thank my family first off for all of their support, along with my friends and coaches. Huge thank you to my dad and Coach Vinny for everything. And of course big thank you to Coach Bobby and Coach Sarah for giving me this amazing opportunity!! Can’t wait for the next 4! GO SEAHAWKS!!!💙💛🦅”

Rose is a senior at Columbine High School. She swims year-round with Foothills Swim Team in Denver, and specializes in fly, back, and free. As a freshman, she competed for Columbine at the 2023 CHSAA 5A State Championships, finishing 15th in the 100 fly with a PB of 58.33. Since then, she has dropped 3.4 seconds in the event. She clocked in at 54.94 at Boise Sectionals last spring, where she also hit lifetime bests in the 50 free (24.13), 100 free (52.11), and 100 back (57.43). She finaled in the 50 free (10th place), 100 free (17th), 100 back (9th), and 100 fly (5th).

This summer, Rose repeated those performances in the long-course pool, registering PBs in the 50 free (27.23), 100 free (59.63), 100 back (1:08.05), and 100 fly (1:02.79) at Mt. Hood Sectionals in Oregon. Notably, she was a ‘A’ finalist in the 100 fly, coming in 5th in the final.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 24.13
  • 100 free – 52.11
  • 50 fly – 26.54
  • 100 fly – 54.94
  • 100 back – 57.43

Rose will join Megan Becker in the Seahawks’ class of 2030. Her 100 fly time would already score in the ‘B’ final at the CAA Championships and she’s not far off what it took to get second swims in the 50/100 free and 100 back.
