Caspar Corbeau First Man Under 2:00 in 200 Breast: “I didn’t expect to see that”

2025 WORLD AQUATICS SWIMMING WORLD CUP – Toronto

Olympic medalist Caspar Corbeau broke a huge barrier on the last night of competition in Toronto, becoming the first man to crack the 2:00 barrier in the 200 Breast (SCM). Touching first at 1:59.52, Corbeau earned the first world record of his career. Nearly speechless, Corbeau couldn’t really process the milestone in the moment. However, he did say that for where he is at in his career, he hopes there is more of the same to come.

Caspar’s DPS has gotten significantly better over the last year since Paris. I am really inclined to believe he is the likely person to challenge for silver in the 2 breast now in LCM. Wouldn’t be shocked if he goes 2:06 next time he swims the 2 breast LC

Usually, I’m filming with a Canon EOS R. This was actually just on my iPhone 14 in portrait mode.

His stroke is beautiful to watch! The distance per stroke is just phenomenal. (I honestly think second placed Shin Ohashi might have taken twice the number of strokes than Caspar)
