USA Swimming has announced the rosters for its 2025 National Select Camps, set to take place this month at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The boys’ camp runs October 9th through the 12th, followed by the girls’ camp October 23rd through the 26th.
The 2025 camp holds special significance, as it is being dedicated to Grant Freeze, one of this year’s selectees, who tragically died in anaccident last week at the age of 16. Freeze had previously attended a Zone Select Camp, and USA Swimming said the program will honor his memory and the impact he made in the sport.
Across the two weekends, 52 girls and 51 boys will take part in training and education sessions designed to simulate the day-to-day experience of a U.S. National Team member. Camp activities include in-water practices, race strategy workshops, psychological skills training, Safe Sport teachings, and discussions on recovery, nutrition, and anti-doping.
This year, the Southern Zone leads all regions with 42 athletes, five more than from a year ago, followed by the Central Zone (25), Eastern Zone (23), and Western Zone (14).
SwimMAC Carolina sends the most representatives with six, while Long Island Aquatic Club follows with three. 13 additional clubs have two representing athletes each, including Dads Club, Irvine Novaquatics, and TAC Titans.
North Carolina Swimming leads all LSCs with 11 athletes named to the roster.
Selections were based on performances from September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2025, with criteria including (per USA Swimming):
- The top three athletes in each event based on LCM national rankings.
- The six male and six female swimmers with the highest IMX Power Point scores during the qualifying period.
- The top two 17 & under athletes in the 7.5k and top two available finishers in the 5k from the 2025 Open Water Junior Nationals.
