NCSA Finalist Madison Lin to Swim for University of Chicago Next Fall (2026)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Madison Lin, a finalist at both the spring and summer NCSA Championships, is set to compete for the University of Chicago beginning in the fall of 2026.

“I am so excited to announce my commitment to swimming and studying at the University of Chicago! I want to thank my parents, my friends, Coach Jason, and my swim team for being so supportive in this process. Roll roons!”

A senior at Syosset High School in New York, Lin has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming and diving team for the past three years. In addition to swimming for Syosset, Lin currently trains year-round with Long Island Aquatic Club, where she specializes in breast, free and IM.

Before arriving at Syosset, Lin attended and swam for Shanghai American School at the school’s Puxi campus in Shanghai, China, for three years from 2019 to 2022.

Lin turned in a series of top performances at the TYR Senior Metro Winter Championships (SCY) in February, clocking five new lifetime bests over the course of the weekend. She placed 2nd in the 200 breast (2:17.83), 4th in the 200 IM (2:04.34), 13th in the 400 IM (4:29.58) and 26th in the 50 free (24.41), setting personal best times in each event. Lin also took 8th in the 100 breast in 1:05.19 after posting a best time of 1:04.95 during prelims.

At the NCSA Spring Championship (SCY) a few weeks later, Lin earned a second swim in two events. She improved her time in the 100 breast even further, turning in a time of 1:04.30 to finish 36th overall, and set a personal best in the 50 breast with a time of 30.45. Lin also contested the 100 free (53.26), 200 breast (2:20.04) and 200 IM (2:07.64).

Lin raced at the NCSA Summer Championship (LCM) in July, where she posted two new best times and earned a second swim in four events. She placed 11th in the 200 best in 2:40.49 after turning in a best time of 2:38.32 and hitting a Juniors qualifying time during prelims. She also placed 17th in the 100 breast (1:14.62 – PB), 33rd in the 200 IM (2:24.02) and 38th in the 50 breast (35.39 – SB).

Best Times SCY

  • 100 breast – 1:04.30
  • 200 breast – 2:17.83
  • 200 IM – 2:04.34
  • 400 IM – 4:29.58
  • 100 free – 52.34
  • 200 free – 1:53.69

A Division III program, Chicago competes in the University Athletic Association. At the UAA Championships last season, the Maroons took 3rd behind Emory and NYU before sending 12 athletes on to compete at the NCAA Division III Championship, where the team finished 7th overall.

Based on the results from the 2025 UAA Championships, Lin would have landed in the ‘A’ final in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM, putting her in a position to be a key contributor right from the start. Her times also would have landed her in the ‘B’ final in the 100 free and the ‘C’ final in the 200 free, giving her no shortage of events in which she could score points for the Maroons.

The only other confirmed recruit set to join Lin in Chicago’s class of 2030 thus far is Sara Miller of Florida. Also primarily specializing in free, breast and IM, Miller should make for a strong training partner over the next four years.
