RENO, Nev. — Nevada Swimming & Diving kicked off its 2025–26 campaign with a dominant performance and packed stands, hosting Cal State East Bay at Lombardi Pool for the first annual “Reno PACKs The Pool” meet. The Wolf Pack won 12 of 13 events, finishing with a decisive 174–67 victory in front of an energized crowd.

Before the first whistle, fans joined a lively tailgate at 9 a.m., where they met student-athletes, collected autographs, and posed for photos at a themed booth. After the meet, Nevada hosted a swim clinic for kids, followed by a spirited 25-yard freestyle shootout, giving young swimmers a chance to race alongside Pack athletes.

Nevada Highlights and Top Finishes

With a strong start and enthusiastic community support, the Wolf Pack is officially in motion. Nevada returns to Lombardi Pool for its next home meet on Saturday, October 25 vs. UC Davis at 12:00 p.m. PT, ready to build on the momentum and keep the energy flowing. That same weekend, Nevada will also celebrate Alumni Weekend with a special Alumni Meet, bringing former Wolf Pack swimmers and divers back to Lombardi Pool to reconnect.

RENO, Nev. — The Cal State East Bay women’s swim team turned in a strong effort against NCAA Division I opponent Nevada, earning several runner-up finishes and an event win despite falling 174–67 in the team standings.

Meet Highlights

  • 50 Breast: Rae Ann Dressel claimed East Bay’s lone event victory of the meet, winning in 30.14.
  • 200 Medley Relay: Lily CarawayRae Ann DresselAlexia Fajardo, and Adalynn Ascher combined for a time of 1:48.30, placing second in the relay.
  • 100 Back: Adalynn Ascher earned runner-up honors with a 59.41, while Taylor Kolsch and Lola Woodward followed in third and fourth at 1:00.56 and 1:02.00, respectively.
  • 100 Breast: Rae Ann Dressel placed second in 1:07.12.
  • 50 Fly: Alexia Fajardo took third overall with a 26.35.
  • 50 Free: Kali Mull paced East Bay in the sprint event, touching third in 25.70.
  • 100 Free: Mull returned for another strong swim, taking third with a 54.64.
  • 50 Back: Caraway led the Pioneers with a 27.79 for third place.
  • 500 Free: Clemens placed third overall with a 5:17.30.
  • 100 Fly: Fajardo delivered another top-three finish, placing third in 58.89.
  • 200 Free Relay: The quartet of Fajardo, Mull, Ascher, and Nordini closed the meet with a third-place finish, touching in 1:40.81.

The Pioneers will return to the pool next week for the Slug Shootout hosted by UC Santa Cruz on Friday and Saturday.
