Kate Fetters from Huntertown, Indiana has announced she will remain in state with her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Indiana beginning in fall 2027.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Indiana University. I am so grateful for my endless support from my family, coaches, and teammates. I would like to thank Coach Ray and Coach Luke for this amazing opportunity. GO HOOSIERS”

Fetters swims for Fort Wayne Swim Team and most recently competed at Summer Juniors. There she finaled in the 100 free posting a lifetime best 57.33 for 27th in finals. She also was 32nd in the 100 back in a best time of a 1:04.00 while she swam in prelims of the 50 back and 200 back as well.

She began her junior year at Carroll High School this fall and swam to numerous runner up finishes at the 2025 Indiana High School State Championships. She finished 2nd in the 50 free in a 23.42 and in the 100 back with a 55.33. She was faster in prelims of both events posting a 23.17 in the 50 free and a 54.99 in the 100 back.

Fetters’s Best SCY Times Are:

  • 100 back: 54.24
  • 50 free: 23.17
  • 100 free: 50.68
  • 200 free: 1:49.33

The Indiana women finished 2nd at the 2025 Big Ten Championships with 1255.5 points, less than 100 points behind Ohio State who captured the conference title with 1338.5 points. The Hoosier women went on to finish 4th at 2025 NCAAs, marking a program high, but graduated their top scorer Anna Peplowski.

Based on her best times, Fetters is not far off what it took to final at the conference level as it took a 53.97 in the 100 back, a 22.55 in the 50 free, and a 49.60 in the 100 free. She still has two years until her arrival.

Fetters will arrive in fall 2027 as a member of the class of 2031 along with Bryce Winzenread (breaststroke/IM) and Addy Gebhart (sprint free).
