Summer Juniors finalist Daxs Schoenbeck has verbally committed to Villanova University for the recruiting class of 2026.

Schoenbeck swims for Longhorn Aquatics in Austin, and over the summer, he swam the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke events at the Summer Junior Nationals in July. His highest finish came in the 200 breaststroke, where he swam a personal best time of 2:18.42 to finish 18th overall.
He also set a new personal best in the 50 breast (30.29) to finish 105th overall and in the 100 breast (1:04.66), finishing 49th.
In March, he swam at the Speedo Sectionals meet in Justin, where he qualified for the finals in all four of his individual events, setting all new best times. In the 100 breast, he finished 19th overall in 56.65. In the 200 breast, he swam 2:00.81 in the prelims to qualify for the ‘B’ final where he ultimately finished 14th in 2:01.65.
He also swam the IM events, finishing 11th in the 200 IM at 1:52.75 and 30th in the 400 IM at 4:05.09.

Villanova is a mid-major school that competes in the Big East conference, where the men’s teams finished 4th overall, scoring 588 points to come in 100 points behind Xavier who scored 688 in 3rd.
Schoenbeck will come in as the fastest 200 breaststroker on the team, with his time ranking him first on last season’s depth chart, a full second ahead of Max Christensen’s 2:01.97.
He also would have finished 6th overall in the event at the Big East Championships last year, scoring 13 points for the Villanova team.
On Villanova’s team, he would have been 5th in the 100 breast, 4th in the 200 IM, and 7th in the 400 IM last season.
He will join Michael Yuen in the recruiting class of 2026 on the Villanova campus in the fall.
