Jackson Tishler has announced his commitment to stay in state and continue his academic and athletic careers at Virginia beginning in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

Tishler swims for Nations Capital Swim Club and most recently competed at Futures in Greensboro. There he swam to a lifetime best 27.62 in the 50 back for 28th. He also finaled in the 100 back with a 58.73. His prelims time of a 58.47 was a season best.
This past spring, Tishler finished his short course season at NCSAs. he swam to a lifetime best 1:44.18 in the 100 back to make the A final where he finished 8th. He also made the ‘A’ final in the 100 backstroke, finishing with a 48.69, just off his lifetime best 47.88.
Tishler’s Best SCY Times Are:
- 100 back: 47.88
- 200 back: 1:44.18
- 200 free: 1:37.34
- 500 free: 4:30.82
The Virginia men finished 8th out of 15 teams at the 2025 ACC Championships. David King led the way with 79 individual points including a 3rd place finish in the 100 back (45.11) and 500 free (4:13.43). King was the team’s fastest backstroker overall as he also led the team with a 1:38.36 200 back.
Based on his best times, Tishler is just off scoring in the 200 back as it took a 1:42.64 to make the ‘C’ final. It took a 46.71 in the 100 back and a 1:34.41 in the 200 free to earn a second swim.
Tishler joins a loaded class that arrives this fall. Also in the class is #1 Thomas Heilman, #2 Maximus Williamson, #12 Thomas Mercer, HM Blake Amlicke, HM Nathan Szobota, BOTR Grant Murphy, and BOTR Noah Powers. Mercer, Murphy, and Amlicke also have the potential to swim the backstroke events.
