Freestyle and butterfly specialist Quinn Burke will stay in-state, swimming for Whittier College in California this fall. Burke attended Charter High School of the Arts and competes for the Los Angeles Swim Club.

Burke is particularly strong in mid-distance freestyle and the 200 fly. He recorded lifetime bests in both events at the CA RMDA Kevin Perry Senior Invitational (SCY), posting a 1:50.72 in the 200 free and a 2:01.81 in the 200 fly in November 2024.
His fastest 500 free came in May 2024 at the CIF LA City Championship (SCY). Representing Charter High School of the Arts, he placed 3rd in the 500 free with a time of 5:02.01 and 6th in the 100 fly with a time of 54.87.
More recently, Burke recorded a lifetime best in the 100 fly, clocking 53.16 at the CCAT 2025 Post-CIF SC Senior Development Meet (SCY) in May. Between long course and short course events, he has achieved several personal bests so far in 2025.
In November 2024, Burke also competed at the CA CANY Cranberry Meet (SCY), where he posted additional lifetime bests in the 100 breast (1:07.17) and 200 IM (2:04.53). He also raced the 500 free (5:18.72), 100 back (58.41), 100 fly (54.50), and 200 fly (2:14.94).

Whittier College competes in NCAA Division III swimming. At the 2025 Men’s SCIAC Championships, the team finished 8th out of nine teams, the same as the previous year. Burke has the potential to be a valuable contributor in several events. His 200 IM time would have ranked 2nd on the team, while his 100 fly, 200 fly, and 500 free would have ranked 3rd last season. His 200 free would have been 4th.
Burke will join Alex Song on campus this fall. Song has strong times in the 100 fly (53.33) and 200 free (1:47.17).
