Team USA has arrived in Thailand for training camp before the upcoming 2025 World Championships that begin later this month in Singapore. Follow their journey as seen on social media.
It was a long day of travel. Most athletes traveled for more than 24 hours getting to Thailand.
- Training camp: July 11 – 21 — Phuket, Thailand
- International training: July 22 – 26 — Singapore
- Competition: July 27 – August 3 — Singapore
- Return home: August 4

Hey, imagine that … athletes on a reasonable flight / training schedule, traveling Delta One / First Class / Business class … happy, relaxed, well-fed, well-rested and will be ready to roll.
More evidence that changes were long overdue in the National Team division. Go USA!
USA swim covers coach (about $1300)
. $4000-$5000 paid by the athlete to upgrade. If only they paid for the nice seats
Yeah most of the team flying coach.
Sadly many of these kids are pay for any upgrades out of their own pocket to travel 24hr on flights. Costs have been as much as $10k because if bargain basement economy tickets bought by USA. Hard to swim fast with your knees cramped up that long.
How is Phuket pronounced because it looks like it could be a dirty phrase in disguise.

But while Etihad business is nice (and much nicer than any US airlines), it’s not at the same level as SQ, EK, and QR.
Nice! Glad they got to fly Business Class given how long the flight is! Don’t eat the street food!!
When in Thailand, you eat street food and in simple restaurants that the locals frequent. They’re the best!
I ate street food when in Thailand and never had an issue. Unlike with a restaurant you can see how clean or unclean the kitchen is when eating street food.
They are among the minuscule few making enough money at this sport to fly business class.
