On Monday afternoon at the end of a power workout, US Olympian Matt King dove a 50 free in a brief, clocking a 19.2. Although King isn’t competing for Indiana this semester, he is still training with the team and preparing to race at the 2024 Short Course World Championships in Budapest, then will join the college team in the spring.

THere’s always waves and all that sooo it could’ve gone either way. still really fast though!!!
Anytime a video is posted with a practice time, many feel the need to state what they timed the swim at.
I realize a lot of people on the site automatically know what it means to swim 19.2s in a brief, but it would be great if writers could get into the habit of providing at least a sentence or two of context with a post like this. Don’t get me wrong; I’m really glad it’s here, but a bit of education would go a long way.
Ian Hong is doing that 4 times in a practice according to Sergio Lopez. Why isn’t that news?
Joseph Schooling went a 19.2 10 times in a row yesterday at the end of practice
19.45
I had 19.35 and 19.36 on consecutive views. I could see a world where the coach says 19.2
same. Close enough to say 19.2 is legit
Same, 19.3.
I got 19.33 on the dot twice in a row so I’m pretty confident it’s gotta be close to that. 19.2 is very reasonable
Wait you can still swim fast in a brief?!
Only monotonously
Only when times with a hand watch.
