GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swimming and diving teams had a tremendous weekend at Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium, taking down UW-Stevens Point and UW-Oshkosh. Green Bay defeated the Pointers 198-77 (men) and 212-53 (women) on Friday night before downing the Titans 188-52 (men) and 178-59 (women) on Saturday afternoon.
MEN’S RECAP
Andy Groebner narrowly took the victory on the three-meter board, totaling a score of 264.90, outlasting UWSP’s Declan Trant, who totaled 263.70 points. Jerett Maalis paced the Phoenix to victory in the 200-yard medley relay, an event in which the Phoenix took three of the top five spots. Maalis, who has had an impressive freshman season to date, was also victorious in teh 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.33. Chris Aristondo led the way in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.89.
Versus UW-Oshkosh, Sebby Smolecki led the Phoenix to a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Freshman Owen Kearns and senior John Burnard were a one-two punch in the 1650 free, with the former finishing in 16:47.27, while the latter completed the event in 16:55.60. Groebner was victorious in the one and three meter dive, scoring 241.80 and 244.20 points, respectively. Ethan Braatz placed first in the 200-yard freestyle, while Smolecki also led GB to a first-place completion in 200-yard IM with a time of 1:55.39.
WOMEN’S RECAP
Annie Frederickson was strong on the boards over the weekend, taking first in the three meter and one meter against UWSP and UWO. Against the Pointers, GB took the top three spots in the 200-yard freestyle, paced by Emily Allen’s time of 1:56.29. Teammates Elise Pasholk and Kaleigh Gale placed second and third, respectively. Esther Oswald posted a time of 59.58 in the 100-yard backstroke, which was good for first place. Faith Eilertson, Ella Anderson, and Cora Singleton (respectively) went one-two-three in the 100-yard breaststroke.
On Saturday against UW-Oshkosh, Elise Pasholk won the 1650 free event with a time of 17:58.75. Lilianna McAvoy took first in the 200-yard freestyle, completing the event with a time of 1:58.99. Anderson came through in the 200-yard IM, posting a time of 2:14.79. Allen narrowly won the 50-yard freestyle, beating out UWO’s Francesca Schiro with a time of 24.73. Marisol Swenson chipped in, leading the Phoenix to a win in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:40.29, defeating the Titans by just over three seconds.
COMING UP
Green Bay will have the week to prepare for St. Norbert College. The Green and White will cross the Fox River to face the Green Knights this Friday, November 8 at 5:30 pm.

GREEN BAY, Wis.— The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team dropped their dual with Green Bay. The UWSP men finished with a score of 77 to Green Bay’s 198 and the women finished with a score of 53 to Green Bay’s 212.
The Pointer men were led by the 200-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest), Jacob Biscan (Edina, Minn./Edina), Peter McMahon (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) and Matthew Loy (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) with a time of 1:26.50 taking first-place and Barwick winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.68.
Barwick posted a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.17.
Scott Jenn (Madison, Wis./Memorial) and Kody Hellenbrand (Madison, Wis./East) finished the 200-yard backstroke clocking the same time of 2:02.73.
Declan Trant (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) placed second in the three-meter dive with a score of 263.70.
James Stadler (Madison, Wis./West) posted a second-place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 240.30.
The women were led by second place finishes from Rose Hansen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.79, Mimi Trenary (Moline, Ill./Moline) in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.97 and Hollyn Ambre (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) finished the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:24.30.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Hansen, Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther), Maddy Magle (Sheboygan, Wis./Kohler), and Ambre finished second with a time of 1:41.40.
The Pointers are back in action next Saturday (Nov. 9) in St. Peter, Minn. for the Minnesota State Mankato/Gustavus Tri beginning at 1:00 p.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women’s swimming & diving team traveled to Green Bay on Saturday (Nov. 2), competing against NCAA Division I Green Bay at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium.
The Titans, who took first in the 100-yard freestyle, and owned ten top-3 finishes, fell to the Phoenix, 59-178.
Francesca Schiro (Sr. • New Glarus) won the 100-yard freestyle with a finish time of 54.28.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Rowan Sinclair (Fr. • Temecula, Calif.) finished with a time of 2:00.09, taking second, while Bee Ecklund (So. • Elgin Ill.) followed third at 2:08.84.
Cadence Showalter (Sr. • Naperville, Ill) took third in the 200-yard individual medley with 2:22.43.
Both Sinclair and Showalter finished in the 200-yard butterfly in the top-3 as well, with times of 2:14.25 and 2:21.17 respectively, earning the second and third place spots on the podium.
Sienna Della-Peruta (So. • Grayslake, Ill) grabbed third with a 2:16.60 finish in the 200-yard backstroke.
The 500-yard freestyle saw two Titans take top-3 positions. Brianna Wesenberg (Jr. • Ripon) finished second at 5:45.23, with Layla Ogango (So. • Leesburg, Va.) taking third with 6:01.81.
The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of Schiro, Showalter, Sinclair and Kori Burnett (Fr. • Beloit) took second in the event in 1:43.31.
The Titans return next Friday (Nov. 8) when they travel to Whitewater to take on the Warhawks in a WIAC matchup. The first event begins at 5 p.m.

Jacob Gordon (Fr. • St. Louis, Mo.) finished top-3 in both the 1- and 3-meter diving events, scoring 220.05 and 191.78, respectively. Glen Cole (So. • Milwaukee) also finished third in the 3-meter diving with a score of 189.3.
Damen Seremet (Jr. • Beaver Dam), finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.12.
Julian Koller (So. • Hartland) took third in the 200-yard butterfly, with a 2:11.80 finish.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Ben Knoeck, (Sr. • Cottage Grove) finished in 5:11.82, taking second, while Law Lykins (So. • Ellijay, Ga) took third 5:22.59.
The 200-yard medley relay squad of Seremet, Knoeck, Drew Davis (Sr. • Bakersfield, Calif.) and Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez (So. • Schaumburg, Ill.)finished third with a time of 1:28.72
