The sixth-ranked Division II Mavericks also had three men surpass the NCAA Pre-Championship Diving Qualification meet standards in the diving competitions before action moved into the swimming slate, which saw the Mavs win five of the first six swimming events.

CMU sophomore Jax Juarros claimed the 1-meter diving win with a 6-dive score of 347.18 points, good for one of the three NCAA marks.  Meanwhile, Wyatt Hermanson (297.98) and Ryan Campbell (295.95) both went over the 3-meter qualification standard of 295 points, taking fourth and fifth place behind a trio of Pioneers.

The Mavs then got off to a quick start in the swimming events as Andrew Scoggin, Forest Frazier, Xander Zappas and Harry Stacey combined to win the 400-Yard medley relay in a time of 3:18.97.

The Pioneers then took the top four spots in the 1000 Free before the Mavs answered back in the 200 Free through German freshman Richard Schmiedefeld, who claimed his first collegiate win with a time of 1:41.78.
