WASHINGTON – Georgetown University’s swimming & diving team captured a win at home against cross-town rival American. The women’s team set three pool records in their 157-137 win while the men set one pool record and won 166-120.
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Erin Hood, Lindsey Wagnner, Genevieve Youngman and Madeline Malone set a new pool record with their first place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.88.
- Kira Agne and Ashley Vensel finished first and second in the 1000 free with times of 10:31.23 and 10:51.22, respectively.
- In the 200 free, Maddie Bauer and Sophia Ribeiro tied for first with a time of 1:54.11.
- Wagner set a new pool record with her first place finish of 56.08 in the 100 backstroke.
- Erin Hood posted a time of 1:05.76 to take first in the 100 breaststroke.
- Malone, Wagner, Bauer and Isabella Wylie set a new pool record in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:29.36.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 200 medley relay, John McEachern, Nate Lamers, Connor Brennan and Bailey De Luise captured a first place finish with a time of 1:33.02.
- Jack Januario (9:46.98), Conor Jellig (9:52.31) and Michael Mostofi (9:53.38) swept the podium in the 1000 free.
- Liam Ryan captured a first place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.44.
- Gabe Gonda earned first with a time of 1:53.13 in the 200 butterfly.
- In the 50 free, Shaun Kronenwetter picked up a first place finish with a time of 21.18.
- Nico Santiago set a pool diving record in the 1M dive with a score of 323.75.

WASHINGTON – Among five events for American University men’s and women’s swim & dive that saw the Eagles with the top time or score in a dual at Georgetown, sophomore Peyton Thurman and senior Mimi Watts brought home two wins apiece.
Notable
- Thurman took the top spot on both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Her score of 257.35 on the 1-meter is a PR and improves her already sixth-place all-time score at American. She also took first place on the 3-meter with a score of 254.75.
- Watts got wins in both the 100 fly with a time of 55.63, and the 100 free with a time of 51.85. She has not lost in an individual event so far this season.
- The Eagles’ fifth win of the day came from senior Caleb Farris in the men’s 100 fly with a time of 51.27.
- Senior Nick Buckley took second in the men’s 50 free in 21.19.
- For the women, junior Amaya Tomma grabbed second place in the 200 back with a time of 2:08.70.
- The women’s 200 medley relay team of Tomma and Watts along with sophomore Grace Netz and freshman Lian Jeong Engle recorded the 15th-best time at American in that event, finishing in 1:47.18 to take second place.
- In the men’s 200 medley relay, the foursome of freshmen Henry Bysshe and Kyler Alcebar along with sophomores Madan Morris and Colin Clough, took third with a time of 1:34.62.
- Overall, the women lost 157-137 to the Hoyas, while the men lost 166-120.
