Olympian and world champion Nic Fink had a solid showing in Westmont, taking wins in the 50 and 100 breast while finishing 4th in the 200. Fink is pleased with where he’s at in the season, noting that his times are solid and he looks to improve on race execution heading into world champ trials in just over 2 months.

I love Fink, but his times aren’t “solid”.
So far at least. I’m basing this off the fact that Fink hasn’t hit any OQTs this season for the 100BR/200BR. His 50BR seems to be his most promising event as of now, and the only one I can see him winning a medal in but I’m expecting for him to pull through at the US Trials, and qualify (With much better times) in all three breastroke events.
OQTs tend not to matter as much for american swimmers because it does not matter if you do not make the team at trials so why would he rest for a meet that his qualifications do not matter
