William & Mary Women, Loyola Men Pick Up Wins In Split Dual

BALTIMORE, MD.- William & Mary’s women’s swimming team defeated Loyola Md. 166-128 in a dual meet in Baltimore Friday evening. The Tribe women won 10 individual events and both relays in the team’s second straight dual win.

Kat VanbourgondienAnnie TuttleSophia Heilen, and Katie Stevenson started the evening out with a win in the 200 medley relay, and freshman Kelsey Katt swam to first place in the 1,000 free.

Elizabeth Intihar cruised to first in the 200 free before Tuttle once again captured first in the 100 breaststroke. Another Tribe freshman earned a first place as Lauren Klienfelter paced all swimmers in the 200 fly.

Stevenson was the top swimmer in the 50 free as the Tribe held a commanding lead entering the opening break. After the diving, Stevenson followed with another win, this time in the 100 free.

Tuttle took the 200 breaststroke while Grace Tramack finished first in the 500 free. Heilen beat all opposition by over two seconds in the 100 fly, before Intihar took her second win of the night in the 200 IM.

Stevenson along with Sydney QuernerCaroline Burgeson, and Brooke Lamoureux sealed the victory with a win in the 200 free relay.

Next up the William & Mary women will look for another road win as they face Towson tomorrow at noon.

Baltimore, MD — The Loyola Greyhounds swimming and diving teams hosted the William Mary swimming and diving team on Friday night.

The men would go on to win 219-128, while the women’s team loss 166-128.

The men’s team totaled 16 event wins, as they started it off with a win in the 200 medley relay, with the relay group of Cross, Verheyen, Hayburn, and Kelly.

The women’s team totaled 4 event wins, and tallied numerous second place finishes.
