2022 Sacred Heart Pentathlon

MILFORD, Conn. – A week before the official season-opening meet to the 2022-23 season, the Sacred Heart University women’s swimming & diving team held its annual pentathlon. For the second-straight year, senior Casey Barrett came away with the overall title.
During the competition, each swimmer competed in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley. The divers follow the five-dive voluntary list.
Barrett captured the 100 backstroke and 200 IM on her way to a winning score of 90 points. Sophomore Emma Chambers was the runner-up with 69 points while a win in the 100 fly propelled Melanie Sanchez to third at 63 points.
Sophomore Rosemery Nieto captured the victory in the 100 breaststroke. Winning the 100 free was senior Kelly Bartnett. The one-meter diving championship went to junior Olivia McNicholas with a new pentathlon record.
Sacred Heart goes across town October 7-8 for the Fairfield Invitational.
