Michael Phelps Swimming’s Greatest Ambassador

22-time Olympic medalist and swimming icon, Michael Phelps, descended on the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain and sucked the oxygen out of the room…and I mean that in a positive way.   From word one, interview one, Phelps has been a great ambassdor. He has appeared relaxed and poised. Granted he’s not competing, but he seems like he’s genuinely enjoying himself. Kudos to FINA for hosting him, and, while FINA has gotten a lot of criticism for past world championships, it must be said they’re doing a fantastic job with swim fan accommodations at this event!
