Here’s the backstory via The Swimmer Calendar website:

It all started at the 2012 US Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.

Astounded by a series of events that landed her in the midst of ten-thousand screaming swimming fans, Beth Green-Tweddle had an idea…. She recognized an opportunity to help grow the sport of swimming and share its beauty with the masses.  So she took it.

Excited by the possibilities, Beth presented the concept of The Swimmer Calendar to Eric Knight, a swimmer and close friend of hers.  Intrigued, Eric immediately recognized the marketability of the calendar concept, and the two of them began putting together a business plan.  Backed by their families and friends, they started a company and began the project.

To give the idea a visual voice, Beth and Eric needed a photographer… a great one.  Fortunately, Eric’s good friend and former George Mason University teammate, Andrew Day, had been establishing himself in Manhattan, as an emerging talent in the world of fashion photography.  Andrew was a perfect fit for the calendar project.

The pieces in place, the three of them partnered to create Day and Knight Productions, LLC.  Together, they produced The Swimmer Calendar 2014 on a limited budget, without the help of any sponsors or corporate funding.

D&K Productions is special when considering that Beth, Andrew and Eric live in three different states—New York, Virginia and North Carolina.  Constantly communicating by phone, text and email throughout the entire year long process, they worked together seamlessly in their roles; each with their own responsibilities.

I’ve always thought Kate Ziegler would make a good swimsuit model. She’s good looking, photogenic, and knows how to move in front of a camera.
