Dane Charleston of the Marietta Marlins in Georgia has made committed to Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) for 2021-22. Charleston is a senior at North Cobb High School.
I chose IUPUI because they have amazing coaches and swimmers, the education is great, and there are an abundance of opportunities.

Charleston just competed at the 2021 Georgia HS 7A State Championships, where he won the 200 IM title with a lifetime best 1:51.75, going four seconds faster than he did at the 2020 meet.
He’s gone lifetime bests in both backstrokes, the 400 IM and the 200 free, too, since the pandemic hit.
IUPUI placed fourth out of seven teams at the 2020 Horizon League Championships. Charleston brings B-final scoring times in both backstrokes and both IMs, and he’s just off of A-final speed in a few races. He joins 55.1/2:02 breaststroker Logan Kelly in IUPUI’s incoming class.
