STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Wildcats placed first in 12 of the 13 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated Stony Brook, 142-88, on Saturday. The Wildcats improve to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in America East, while the Seawolves are now 4-6 and 0-2 in America East.
UNH was led by sophomore Anna Metzler (Regensburg, Germany), freshman Audrey Tirrell (Gaithersburg, Md.) and senior Anna Burns (Falmouth, Maine) who each won two individual events.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Metzler continued to post first place finishes this season as she won the 1,000 free (10:22.94) and the 200 back (2:05.31), while Tirrell had a strong meet as she earned the win in the 200 free (1:54.56) and in the 500 free (5:04.80).
- Burns was outstanding as she took both diving events totaling the best score in the one-meter event (196.50) and in the three-meter event (215.90).
- Freshman Olivia Stille (Stockholm Sweden) had a strong Wildcat debut as she placed first in the 100 free (53.52).
- Senior Corinne Carbone (Medway, Mass.), junior Miranda Bacon (Scotia, N.Y.) and freshman Madison Linstedt (Marion, Ohio) each captured an event. Carbone won the 400 IM (4:27.70), Bacon secured the win in the 200 breast (2:20.15) and Linstedt took the 200 fly (2:08.54).
- The Wildcats also won both relay events. The 200 Medley Relay team of junior Melissa Dingle (Brighton, Ontario), freshman Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii), junior Paige Hillis (Mississauga, Ontario) and sophomore Cate Wardinski (Burke, Va.) recorded the first-place finish with a time of 1:47.22.
- The 400 free relay team of Metzler, Stille, Tirrell and Carbone concluded the meet with a winning time of 3:33.97.

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — It was a day for the seniors and they made sure to represent.
Michal Liberman won the 50 free (24.75) in her final home meet as a Seawolves swimmer as Stony Brook fell to New Hampshire 142-88 on Saturday morning at the University Pool.
“Being the last meet before America East Championships it was an opportunity for us to get one last tune up,” head coach Kerry Smith said. “It showed us where we are and what we need to do to be ready in 26 days.”
Maddy Enda added a second-place finish for the Seawolves in the 200 fly while Jess Salmon and Reagan McDonald both scored as swimmers for Stony Brook in the final competition before America East Championships start up in a month.
Valerie Reiter led the divers, finishing second in the 3-meter and third in the 1-meter segments. Emma DeMottie added a third-place finish in the 3-meter for the Seawolves.
This was the finale of the Seawolves’ six home meets and will finish the year with a meet record of 4-6 ahead of the conference meet.
