With NCAA Championships coming up in March, Florida has been approved to host the Last Chance Meet, which is scheduled to run from Friday to Sunday in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Natatorium.
UF’s Last Chance Meet, one of nine across the country, serves a final opportunity for swimmers to earn NCAA-qualifying times (the 2016-17 standards can be found here). Each event features three chances to get those times – morning prelims, afternoon finals and time trials after each session.
This weekend, the Gators will welcome swimmers from Florida State, Florida Gulf Coast, Miami (FL) and Texas A&M. Points won’t be counted for the meet, and there will be no team winner.
The prelims sessions will start at 10 a.m., and finals will follow at 5 p.m.
Fans can enter the facility at Gate 2, and doors open at 7 a.m. for prelims and 2:30 p.m. for finals. Admission is free. For Friday’s sessions only, parking is available on the top level of the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center’s north lot garage. Restrictions for other areas of the garage and north lot will be in effect Friday but are lifted on weekends.
