Patrick Kelly Brings Versatility to the Colgate Raiders

For more commitment articles, be sure to check out SwimSwam’s College Recruiting channel.

Patrick Kelly, who trains primarily with Excel Aquatics in Tennessee, has committed to Colgate University. Kelly is a well rounded swimmer who should contribute to the Raiders in several events:

  • 100 free- 47.83
  • 200 free- 1:43.60
  • 200 IM- 1:55.41
  • 400 IM- 4:06.71
  • 200 fly- 1:57.46

Kelly finished 10th in 2015 for Oakland High School at the Tennessee State High School Swimming Championships. His times in both medleys put him just outside of scoring range from the 2015 Patriot League Championship. It took 1:53.51 in the 200 and 4:04.56 in the 400 to score last year.

However, Kelly would have been the fastest IM swimmer on last year’s Raider squad, so he represents a significant upgrade for the team.

“I am excited to swim for Andy and his staff next fall and can’t wait to be a part of the Colgate community”

Kelly will bring more than just athletic potential to campus: he’s a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and an International Baccalaureate diploma candidate. He plans on majoring in Mathematical Economics.
