Carmen Cordova
Carmen is in her second year as an Aquamule. She is studying Government and Managerial Economics and plans to eventually rule the world. She is a freestyler and specializes in the middle distance events. Her hairstyle regularly garners both attention and compliments and might be the most fashion-forward on the team.
Colby College Swimming and Diving
2013-2014
Carmen was a jack of all (freestyle) trades her freshman year. She swam the gamut of the free events from the 50 all the way up to the distance races. She had an amazing NESCAC Championship meet, making career drops in her individual events.
2014-2015
In her sophomore season, Carmen focused on middle distance freestyle. She had a great dual meet season, seeing action on relays and scoring in the 50 and 100 free.
Personal
Carmen has one of the strongest personalities on the team. Lou Holtz once said, “Show me someone who has done something worthwhile, and I’ll show you someone who has overcome adversity.” The saying couldn’t be more spot on for the sophomore swimmer. Fun fact: She was an accomplished gymnast before making the jump into the deep end of the pool.
