The 2026 Eric Namesnik Memorial Invite, held in Ann Arbor, the home of the University of Michigan, was rightfully headlined by several Wolverine swimmers; among those to make a big splash at the Canham Natatorium were Hannah Bellard and Ole Eidam.
Bellard, a two-time finalist at the 2026 Women’s NCAA Championships this past season, including a 3rd place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.17), found herself as a three-time winner at this meet. However, her biggest swim came in the 100 fly, where she clocked a new lifetime best of 59.22, which marked her first timedrop in the event since the 2022 Speedo Sectionals in Indianapolis when she went 59.85.
In addition to the best time, Bellard also added victories in the 200 free (2:00.67) and the 200 fly (2:10.34), neither of which topped her personal bests of 2:00.02 and 2:09.92, respectively. Both of those bests have stood since 2023.
Eidam, on the men’s side, was a winner in his own right, claiming wins in both the 50 fly and 100 fly. Eidam clocked the fastest 50 free of the meet in 22.70, and added a win in the 100 fly as well, touching in 52.79.
Colin Geer, a three-time Big Ten Championship finalist last season at Michigan, which included a runner-up finish in the 200 IM (1:40.15), notched a lifetime best in the 400 IM at this meet in 4:26.09. A near full-second improvement from his former best time of 4:26.97 from the Speedo Junior National Championships in August of 2023.
Ryan Healy, a rising senior at Michigan, picked up a pair of wins in the men’s breaststroke events, including a best time in the 100 breast in 1:04.08, dropping from his previous career best time of 1:04.14 from this meet in 2024. Heely also added the 200 breast to his win total, touching in 2:17.07, still more than three seconds off his fastest-ever performance of 2:13.95 from last summer’s Columbia Sectionals.
