2026 St. Petersburg Aquatics First Long Course Meet

It was another event of personal bests and movement up the boys’ 10-and-under all-time rankings for Gabriel Brown at the St. Petersburg Aquatics First Long Course Meet.

Competing for the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers out of Indiana, the 10-year-old swam personal bests in the 100 free (1:03.75) and 400 free (4:40.10), moving into the top spot in both events (long course) for the boys’ 10 and under age group this season.

That 400 was fun to watch! Gabe, Annabelle, and Luca all battling it out!

It was a great meet and amazing for a non championship format. Races were quick, yet didn’t feel rushed. The amount of fast racers made everybody give a strong effort without the worry of championship times. Loved the mixed gender and age group format that allowed similar skilled racers to share the heat and push each other!

Great job Coach Fred and SPA!!

There were NO Team Awards or High Point Awards. Just long course racing after a 90 minute training session. Best thing was a Friday night 800 free and a Saturday 1500 free. Fifties of all the strokes were offered everyday. A 700 plus swimmer long course meet and done in 6 1/2 hours, including afternoon warm up. Kudos to all the officials and volunteers.
