On Friday night, 14-year-old Canadian Mark Aistov swam the boys’ 100 butterfly at the 2026 Best of the West Fest in Winnipeg, Canada. He stopped the clock in 54.25, taking down Josh Liendo‘s Canadian Age Record time of 54.76 from 2017.
Boys’ 100 Butterfly Top Three

- Maddox Woodruff (GPP) — 59.53
Aistov won the event by more than four seconds, ahead of HYACK 14-year-old Jeremy Lee, who finished 2nd in 58.70 and more than five seconds ahead of Maddox Woodruff, who finished 3rd in 59.53.
His swim was also a new personal best time by more than a second from the 56.06 he swam in January.
Aistov was out in 25.41 and came home in 28.84, outsplitting Liendo, who went 25.88/28.88.

For comparison, Aistov is still about a second behind the current American NAG record in the 13-14 age group, which is held by Thomas Heilman at 53.27.
He will move up to the top 10 in the current season Canadian rankings with just seven athletes holding faster times this season. Josh Liendo does not appear on the list since he has not swum any long course meets this season.
