Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics’ Lauren Fishbein has committed to further her academic and athletic career at Yale University beginning in the fall of 2026.
Fishbein hails from New York City and is a multiple-time Speedo Sectionals championship finalist, having most recently notched three ‘A’ finals appearances in Ithaca just last week, where she swam career bests in all three races. She finished 6th in the 200 breast, dropping well over a full second from her previous best from the NCAP Invitational in December (2:19.51), to 2:18.27. She also swam career bests in both the 200 IM (2:04.33) and the 400 IM (4:22.35), finishing 6th and 5th in those races, respectively.
At that same meet, she swam a career best in the 50 back as the leadoff leg of AGUA’s 200 medley relay, opening in 26.93, helping lead that relay to a 9th-place finish.
She also had a very productive showing at the Senior Metro Winter Championships in February, clocking career bests in the 100 breast (1:04.12), 100 backstroke (56.24), and 200 backstroke (2:00.88).
Best Times SCY:
- 200 IM: 2:04.33
- 400 IM: 4:22.35
- 100 Breast: 1:04.12
- 200 Breast: 2:18.27
- 100 Back: 56.24
- 200 Back: 2:00.88
Fishbein joins a Yale Bulldogs women’s team that finished 5th out of eight teams at the 2026 Ivy League Women’s Championships.
Based on Fishbein’s best times, she would have finished 21st in both the 200 back and the 400 IM, and 26th in the 200 IM at those Ivy League Championships.
Fishbein is an immediate scoring talent for the Bulldogs, and with all of her major best times coming within the turn of the new year, she has shown the potential to continue improving for seasons to come, which could play a massive role in Yale’s hopes to move up into the top half of the Ivy League.
The decision to commit to Yale is not a first for the AGUA team, as Fishbein will join fellow AGUA swimmers Delilah Skaistis (sophomore), Mia Slowik (first-year), and Violet Dorsey-Reyes (sophomore), all of whom represented AGUA before Yale.
There is a great deal of flexibility in Fishbein’s events, with the bulk of her skill set in the mid-distance strokes and IM. Still, also a sprinkle of sprint speed, especially in the 100 breast, an event that she would have finished 18th at the Ivy League Championships last month, the decision will probably have to be made whether she opts for that or the 400 IM, as both seem to be inside scoring range at Ivies.
Fishbein joins Sophie Davies, Siri Vanderlinden, Shu Tong Du, Ofek Adir, and Elise Gratton in the Bulldogs’ 2026 recruiting class.
