56.4/2:02.4 Breaststroker Jack Lynch Commits To Trinity University’s Class Of 2030

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Jack Lynch has announced his commitment to swim at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas for his collegiate career. He confirmed the news in an email to SwimSwam, writing:

After much thought, I am very excited to announce my commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Trinity University! I want to thank God, my parents, coaches, teammates, and friends for supporting me through this journey. I want to thank Trinity Coaches Cathleen, George, and Mabel for giving me this amazing opportunity! Go Tigers!

Top SCY Times:

  • 100 Breaststroke: 56.49
  • 200 Breaststroke: 2:02.49
  • 200 IM: 1:56.21

Lynch is from Fayetteville, Georgia, where he swims year-round with Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club and attends Starr’s Mill High School. He’s a breaststroke specialist, strong across the 100 and 200, with the 200 IM as his third-best event.

His junior season in 2024-25 saw him drop from 57.57 to 56.86 in the 100 breast, 2:05.75 to 2:02.49 in the 200 breast, and 1:58.06 to 1:56.21 in the 200 IM. Though it’s very early in his senior season, he’s already sliced his 100 breast down to 56.49 and swam 1:56.81 in the 200 IM, about half a second off his best. His current 200 breast season best is 2:04.37.

Lynch has qualified for the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) 4A State meet for each of his first three years of high school, with the opportunity to qualify again this February. He won the 100 breast in 2024 before taking runner-up this past season, and placed ninth in the 200 IM the past two years. He was 16th in the 100 breast and 31st in the 200 IM as a freshman.

Trinity is a private Division III university in San Antonio, Texas. The Tigers are joining the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) as full members starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, moving from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Lynch’s best times would have placed him third in the 200 breast, fifth in the 100 breast, and seventh in the 200 IM at last year’s edition of the SAA meet.

On the team’s 2024-25 depth chart, Lynch would have ranked second in the 200 breast, third in the 100 breast, and fifth in the 200 IM.

Sophomore Caleb del Rosario (55.38/2:03.24/1:51.40) and junior John Key (55.38/2:02.08/1:51.27) were the team’s top performers in all three events. Lynch will overlap for one season with del Rosario and will train alongside current freshman Daniel Apostol (55.79/2:04.62/1:57.53) for three seasons, giving him strong training partners as he transitions into collegiate swimming.

Lynch is joined by butterfly and backstroke specialist Jake Sityar as the only two publicized recruits in the Tigers’ class of 2030.
