30-Yr-Old Lee Juho Lowers Own Korean 200 Back Record In Australia

2025 QUEENSLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2025 Queensland Championships continued on from the Brisbane Aquatic Centre with domestic and foreign athletes taking to the pool in day four action.

Among the winners on the night was 30-year-old veteran Lee Juho, the Korean Olympian who lowered his own national record en route to winning the men’s 200m backstroke.

Racing in the final this evening, Lee unleashed a time of 1:55.34 for the gold, a time which beat the pack by over three seconds.

Next to the wall was 24-year-old Stuart Swinburn, who touched in 1:58.60 followed by 17-year-old Henry Allan, who wrangled up bronze in 1:59.23.

As for Lee, his outing this evening overtook the previous Korean benchmark of 1:55.60 he notched just this past October at the 2025 Korean National Sports Festival.

Splits for Lee’s former standard are unavailable. But, here in Australia, the Olympian split 27.16/29.01 (56.17)/29.59/29.58 to establish the fastest time of his career.

Lee now ranks as the #2 swimmer in the world, positioned only behind Hungarian Olympic champion Hubi Kos who hit 1:54.21 at the U.S. Open earlier this month.
