2026 SEC Men’s Swimming & Diving Community Service Team Announced

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 16, 2026) – The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 22 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts. The 2026 SEC Men’s Swimming & Diving Community Service Team is as follows:

Drayden Bell, Senior, Alabama

Bell leads the Alabama men’s swimming and diving team this year in community service hours. He visits an elementary school class once a month as a part of Tide Moves initiative, designed to help convey the importance of physical activity. Additionally, Bell helped with Stepping Back into School, where he provided essentials and supplies to young kids. He assisted at the 2025 SEC Football Media Days, helping with distribution of credentials for media personnel while also aiding with press conferences. Bell also helped out at the DCH’s Cancer Center, where he visited and talked with patients undergoing cancer treatment. He serves as an usher at the Church of the Highlands.

Mack Schumann, Freshman, Auburn

Schumann has already made a significant impact on the Plains since his arrival in the fall. He has volunteered more than 50 hours of community service in his short time. A fixture at the Auburn Food Pantry, Schumann helps provides free food and toiletry items to Auburn University students experiencing food insecurity. He also assists with Operation Iron Ruck, aiding a military veteran group that walks from Tuscaloosa to Auburn during the week of the Iron Bowl to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention. A swimmer at heart, Schumann additionally takes the time to volunteer for the Langford Farms Summer Swim Club.

Scotty Buff, Junior, Florida

Buff has participated in civic and educational community initiatives throughout his time at Florida. He has engaged with students from Gainesville’s Parker Elementary School through stadium tours and classroom visits. Additionally, Buff took part in the Brandon Lang Memorial Sports and Climb for Cancer events, where UF student-athletes and participants spent the day playing sports and developing skills through a variety of athletic activities. He was a selected student-athlete for Florida’s Gators Experience Summer Internship Program, where he completed an internship with a Gainesville-area company, dedicating at least 20 hours per week during the summer of 2025. As part of the internship, Buff attended professional development sessions with the Director of Gators Experience and staff from the Career Connections Center. During these sessions, he shared his internship experiences, reflected on his professional growth, practiced interview skills, and built his network and personal brand. At the conclusion of the internship, Buff presented his experience and key takeaways to athletic department staff.

Sam Powe, Senior, Georgia

Powe has been involved with numerous service and leadership efforts during his four seasons in Athens. Within the athletic department, he was inducted into the L.E.A.D. Leadership Education and Development Academy, a select program of student-athletes engaging in professional and personal development. Powe helped oversee the team’s Swim Across America program, working with teammates to raise funds for cancer research. He volunteered with the Barrow Elementary Pen Pal Program, attending weekly meetings with local schoolchildren and fostered a strong mentorship. Powe also participated in multiple Special Olympics events in both Athens and Chattanooga. He helped organize a team service opportunity at the Athens Area Diaper Bank, packaging and wrapping diapers for local churches and food banks during the holiday season. Within the community, Powe has volunteered with Athens Habitat for Humanity ReStore, restocking, cleaning, and moving items for organization. He has also served for four years as a counselor and lesson teacher at the UGA Summer Swim Camps. Powe has been named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team in each of his first three seasons, along with three placements on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. He has also been named to the J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Honor Roll in each semester, along with four placements on the Dean’s List.

John (JT) Broome, Senior, Kentucky

Broome has served the Lexington community in a variety of ways throughout the year. He has worked with several local affiliations, including the Salvation Army, Sunrise Children’s Services, Operation Christmas Child, God’s Pantry and Big Brothers Big Sisters. For the past two years, Broome has helped with the student-athlete orientation process as a leader and mentor for “My New Kentucky Home.” He also has served as a swimming and diving representative for Kentucky’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He was twice named to the Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll as well as the 2022-23 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. Broome also earned a spot on the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team. He received the Booster Award at the team banquet for the past two seasons, along with the team’s Bob Bradley Scholarship.

Jacob Pishko, Senior, LSU

Pishko has helped several organizations in the Baton Rouge area, including Athlete for Hope, the Knock Knock Children’s Museum, the Companion Animal Alliance, LSU Tiger Life, and Habitat for Humanity. He is very passionate about giving back to the community across various causes such as youth, animals, and beautification projects. Pishko participated in activities led by LSU student-athletes this school year, including the Halloween Boozar, BREC Let it Snow and the MLK Day of Service.

Jaden Pospishil, Junior, Missouri

Over the course of the year, Pospishil has worked with the Special Olympics, where he helped organize events and assisted the athletes in their respective sports of basketball, bowling, golf, flag football, softball, and adapted basketball. He also helped with Swim Across America, an organization that hosts charity swims across the nation that helps fund cancer research and patient programs. Pospishil has worked along with a number of his teammates during the Adopt-a-family drive around Christmas time. He was named to the 2024-25 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Quinn Buck, Senior, South Carolina

Buck has been active in the Columbia community. This past summer, he coached a non-profit lacrosse club. Buck also participated in Owen’s Park clean-up, which is a large, annual volunteer event for the Owens Field Park in Columbia. He donated school supplies to a local middle school and participated in the 2025 Cocky’s All Sports Camp during South Carolina’s MLK Day of service. Buck is a two-time member of the Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Nick Stone, Senior, Tennessee

Stone has volunteered with multiple charitable organizations while at Tennessee. He works directly with Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM), a charity that works to help people struggling with homelessness, poverty, mental health, and addiction. Stone has also helped the organization Project LIVE, which provides services to adults 60 and older to help them remain in their homes and continue to live independently. He volunteered his time to local schools in the Knoxville community, including Annoor Academy and New Hopewell Community School. Stone was a member of the 2024 VOLeaders Academy, a program aimed to inspire student-athletes to use their influence and passion for sport to help enact change that transcends their athletic achievement. He went on their trip to South Africa and Botswana, where student-athletes get the opportunity to experience the culture and engage in sports-based community initiatives. On the trip, Stone and other student-athletes worked with many programs in the countries, including Egoli Youth Development, Panarama Football Club, Ithembelihle School, Elite Basketball Academy and Women and Sport Botswana.

Ryan Branon, Senior, Texas

Branon is a member of the Texas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He has helped with Texas’ annual Special Olympics Field Day and contributed his time to the Longhorn Strokes Foundation.

Logan Brown, Junior, Texas A&M

Brown is active in the Bryan-College Station community in many ways. He participated in the Revved Up to Read program, which is a Texas A&M student-led program where student-athletes read to local elementary and intermediate school students to promote literacy. The program connects Aggies with local schools, inspiring minds and fostering a love for reading through in-person and virtual interactions. Brown also assisted with the Aggies Can food drive, which collected non-perishable food items and monetary donations to benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank and The 12th Can.
