The relay lineups are out for the mixed 4×100 medley relay during the night 5 finals session of the Commonwealth Games.
South Africa, England, Scotland, and Canada have all changed all four members of their relay teams coming into the final, while Australia has changed three of the four.
South Africa, unsurprisingly, went with Pieter Coetze on the backstroke leg, and will swim MFF with Michael Houlie, Erin Gallagher, and Aimee Canny on the other three legs as they work for a podium finish.
England is swimming FMMF with Lauren Cox, Adam Ramsay-Peaty, Edward Mildred, and Freya Colbert on their finals relay.
Australia’s relay sees Sam Williamson as the only returner on the breaststroke leg. He will swim after backstroker Iona Anderson (F) and will be followed by Matt Temple on fly and Meg Harris on freestyle.
Scotland in lane 5 is swimming a very rare lineup of MFFM with a woman on the breaststroke leg. Angharad Evans is the fastest female breaststroker at the meet, but it is rare to see women on the breaststroke leg of the mixed medley. They will have Matthew Ward swim backstroke, Keanna Macinnes on butterfly, and Duncan Scott on freestyle.
Canada is the other medal contender, and despite having a small team at this meet, they also had enough athletes to switch out their entire prelims relay. Tonight, they will swim FMMF with Kylie Masse, Oliver Dawson, Josh Liendo, and Ella Jansen.
