1,170 Swimmers Qualified to Compete For a Spot On the 2016 Olympic Team

USA Swimming’s most recent numbers show that 1,170 athletes are qualified for the 2016 Olympic Team Trials. Three athletes can breathe easy this week after securing their spot on the 2016 Olympic team by finishing in the top 10 of the Open Water 10k at the 2015 FINA World Championships. Jordan Wilimovsky won the men’s race while Sean Ryan finished fourth. The third person to qualify was Haley Anderson, the 2012 Olympic silver medalist. Anderson finished ninth in the women’s open water 10k, securing her spot as well.
