For more commitment articles, be sure to check out SwimSwam’s College Recruiting channel.

Olivia Wile, who competes for the Hilliard Hurricanes in Ohio, will stay close to home to attend Findlay University. Wile is specializes in both backstroke and butterfly and should contribute right away on relays:

  • 50 backstroke- 27.49
  • 100 backstroke- 58.95
  • 50 butterfly- 26.93
  • 100 butterfly- 59.13

Wile recorded both those 50 results in time trials at the most recent YMCA Short Course National Championships. She also finished 82nd in the 100 backstroke in that competition. Wile has a large gap in her listed performances on the USA Swimming times database, indicating that she may have taken some time off and come back to swimming just recently. She attends Hilliard Darby High School.

Wile has put herself within striking range of relay action for the Oilers. Last year they had a 26.46 for backstroke and a 25.49 for butterfly on the third place 200 medley relay at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.

Wile has potential as an individual scorer as well. Her 100 backstroke would have placed in the B-Final. It took 58.47 to score in the 100 butterfly.
