New Land Swimming World Record Challenges Ottesen Performance Oct 22nd 2013 – Video

Jeanette Ottesen is a World Record holder!  Ok, as reported by Braden Keith yesterday, it was not in an event FINA recognizes, but Land Swimming could takeoff. At SwimSwam we are not making any judgements. True, Ottesen was merely participating in a promotional video spoof for the 2013 European Short Course Championships, but breaking the World Torsvmning or Land Swimming World Record in 50 meters is clearly a challenege the Danish swimming community felt was worth taking on.

We’d like to see a U.S. Team, Canadian, Australian or any other country make a go of it. If your swim team does, please tweet us here at SwimSwamNEWS.

Is Land Swimming an event / venue for the AquaZone at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials?  You decide.

Okay, that’s the place where the 2013 European short course Championships will be held. A first world record got broken even before a pool was set up.

If somewhere there is at least one Swede who does not approve of this silliness and is muttering something about ‘galna danskarna’ (crazy Danes), our work here is done 🙂
