Zachary Fell from Seymour, Connecticut has announced his verbal commitment to swim for Southern Connecticut State University beginning in the fall of 2018.
“Im so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for SCSU! As soon as I arrived, I knew it was the place for me. The phenomenal coaching staff, and the close knit environment of the team, as well as phenomenal academics truly made it an easy decision for me. I cant wait to be apart of the program! Im so excited to be continuing my athletic as well as academic career as an owl for the next 4 years! Go owls!” [sic]
Fell is a senior at Seymour High School where he specializes in mid-distance freestyle. At the 2017 CIAC Class S Boys Swimming Championships, he placed fourth in the 500 free (5:06.63) and sixth in the 200 free (1:51.37), individually. He also led off Seymour’s state title-winning 200 free relay (23.43) and anchored the 400 free relay (50.88) to an 8th-place finish.
Fell swims year-round for Greater Waterbury YMCA Barracudas. He competed this summer at the Connecticut Swimming Senior Long Course Championships and the Connecticut Senior Silver Invite where he finaled in all his events (100/200/400/800 free and 200/400 IM) and earned personal-best times in each of those, plus the 1500 free.
