YNats Qualifier Regan Lawrence Verbally Commits to Little Rock

Regan Lawrence from Cary, North Carolina has verbally committed to swim for the University of Arkansas in Little Rock beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. “From the moment I got to Little Rock, it felt like home. I had an immediate connection with the coaches and swimmers. I can’t wait to join the Trojan family and swim under coach Amy and coach Calvin next year. Go Trojans!”

Lawrence is a senior at Green Hope High School in Cary; she specializes primarily in sprint butterfly, backstroke, and freestyle. At the 2016 4A Eastern NCHSAA Regional Championships, Lawrence competed in the 50/100 free sprints, finishing 18th and 15th, respectively.

Lawrence swims year-round with YOTA (YMCA of the Triangle Area). She has achieved most of her best times over the last two years. In her sophomore season alone she dropped a total of 3 seconds in the 100 free, 1 second in the 50 free, and 2 seconds in the 100 back. During her junior year, she dropped a total of 6 seconds in the 100 fly. Lawrence has competed at YMCA National Championships over the last several years. Her most successful meet this past summer was the Aquatica Summer Splash hosted by YMCA of Central Florida; there she achieved PBs in the 100m free and 100m fly.

  • 100 back – 59.96
  • 100 free – 53.68
  • 50 free – 24.54
  • 100 fly – 59.50
